Cadastre & Property

Callpoint Spatial licenses Geoscape Cadastre & Geoscape Property, as well as our value-added editions including Callpoint Cadastre Extra and Callpoint Augmented Cadastre.

Geoscape Cadastre

A comprehensive dataset of cadastral vector data that cover Australia’s land parcels. It is also known as a Digital Cadastral Database (DCDB).

It is designed for organisations that need a spatial representation of land parcel boundaries. It includes some 17 million polygons

Geoscape Property

Provides a spatial view of rateable properties.  It is a companion to Geoscape Cadastre and includes some 12 million polygons

Why choose Callpoint Spatial for Geoscape Cadastre & Geoscape Property?

Gain access to our extensive experience

We've helped customers across the telecoms, real estate, professional services, government, energy/resources and tertiary/health research sectors

Our value-added Callpoint Cadastre Extra and Callpoint Augmented Cadastre editions

Callpoint's Augmented Cadastre includes G-NAF address attributes (unavailable in Geoscape Cadastre)

One stop: we license the full Geoscape dataset suite

This means you can meet your complete Geoscape dataset needs by sourcing from us

Relationships between the Cadastre and Property themes

There are 3 ways in which cadastral and property parcels can inter-relate:

  • Where one cadastral parcel is equivalent to one property

  • Where one property contains many cadastral parcels

  • Where one cadastral parcel contains many properties

These relationships can play an important role in applications such as real estate.

The map below depicts the example where the outer boundary of two adjacent cadastral parcels align with that of one property.

Orange outlines above right: property layer view (property pid NSW1679030)

The map below is an example of the reverse (many property parcels within one cadastre).

Callpoint’s Cadastre Extra and Callpoint Augmented Cadastre

Geoscape Cadastre meets the needs of many applications.  There are some applications though that require a richer set of attribution columns, for instance:

  • Inclusion of Locality Name and Local Government Area (LGA) Name

  • Inclusion of G-NAF address information

In these cases it can be very useful to reference additional attribution directly from a given cadastre polygon.

Originally inspired by the needs of a fibre optic telecoms carrier, Callpoint developed the spatial processes that operate on both cadastre and G-NAF.

Callpoint Spatial offers 2 enhanced versions: ‘Extra’ and ‘Augmented’

'Extra'

Includes useful columns such as the Parcel ID (which also appears in G-NAF).

'Augmented'

Provides the full set of columns below, including those derived from the ‘within parcel’ G-NAF analysis.

A note about Callpoint Augmented Cadastre:

The processes that perform the augmentation are compute intensive. A key benefit of licensing Callpoint Augmented Cadastre is that you gain access to these attribution columns ‘out of the box’. By contrast, performing these processes ‘on the fly’ within an application could result in a sluggish user experience, or production delays.

We include two sets of street name/street number columns to cater for when a given cadastre parcel spatially encloses GNAF address points from two differently named streets. This may, but not always, represent a street corner scenario.

In the case of street corners, there are constraints where a G-NAF geocode is present for only one i.e. not both streets.  This means that Callpoint Augmented Cadastre is not designed for applications where comprehensive tagging of street corner addresses is required.  If you need more comprehensive street corner tagging, please contact us.

In addition to Geoscape Cadastre, we offer our value-added Callpoint Cadastre Extra and Callpoint Augmented Cadastre editions.
